There are a variety of roles available in BT Facilities for apprentice engineers and these include:

Engineering technician (Air conditioning)

Our A/C engineers work on the refrigeration and air conditioning systems within BT's vast estate, ensuring that we can keep our colleagues at the right temperature to be productive in their work. No one wants to arrive at work to find it too hot or too cold, so our A/C engineers deliver a critical service to our customers.

Engineering technician (Combustion)

Our combustion engineers work on the gas heating systems that provide heat and hot water to BT's vast estate. This is crucial to providing a great working environment for BT people, so that they can concentrate on providing a great customer experience to our customers.

Engineering technician (Electrical)

With over 7,000 buildings across the BT estate, each needing to be supplied with electricity to power business and community critical infrastructure, our electrical engineers have a big responsibility. We look after getting the power into the buildings and to the lighting and equipment in a reliable, cost effective and energy efficient way.

For all of the roles, you'll carry out fault finding, maintenance and repair on the systems, often having to be creative and ingenious in helping to ensure that older installations are maintained to extend their working life. Work is balanced between planned, preventative maintenance, which helps spot problems before they impact on our customers, as well as reacting to power, lighting and electrical heating failures to find a quick solution.

You'll need to be organised, thorough and ready to react to deliver a great customer experience. In return, we'll ensure that you are trained and qualified to the highest standards and provide great employment benefits too.

You will need to have achieved or are predicted 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language and Maths, although you will need to have a B in Maths for this apprenticeship. In addition you will need to have a full driving licence.
