A small capital with a huge reputation, Dublin's mix of heritage and personality, cobbled streets and classic pubs will not disappoint. Settlers in Dublin remark on how small and intimate the city is. That they can be on a stroll through town and always come across someone that they know or how easy it is to strike up a conversation with someone that they don’t know.

The city’s diversity and multiculturalism has exploded over the last twenty years. You’ll hear languages and eat food from all four corners of the globe. This, coupled with the traditional Irish welcome and hospitality, makes Dublin a really appealing place to be.

Every Dubliner has their favourite spot, and you’ll soon find yours. From the traditional pub to whatever new opening is bringing in the punters. There’s over 1000 of them spread around the city, so you won’t go thirsty.

As a foodie city, it’s an up and coming place. Dublin is now home to a growing number of quality restaurants, casual eateries and cafes. Taste bud tempting Mexican, Brazilian, Korean and modern takes on Irish food are now commonplace. Dubliners also have a bit of a thing for their coffee beans, and on many street corners you may find steaming high quality coffee shops that the locals demand.

So as you can see, there are great places to indulge and eat and drink and be merry. But Dublin is a happy and healthy place. Yoga studios, health food cafés, gyms, outdoor boot camps – Dublin is in the midst of a health revolution. So you can enjoy, but also be your best self.

Ireland has its own language, its music is known all over the world. It’s also produced some literary greats and its theatre, arts and folklore are renowned all over the world. And for the traditional Irish sports - “Until you've seen 30 men beating the bejaysus out of each other with sticks in front of 82,000 screaming fans in Croke Park, you haven't seen real sport.” Say’s it all!

‘Lovin Dublin’ came up with nearly 30 reasons why you need to live in Dublin at least once in your lifetime – and we can see why.
