Oxford and Oxfordshire has a lot to offer. From the ancient University of Oxford to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds – there’s no shortage of culture, history or natural beauty here.

Named as the City of Dreaming Spires, Oxford is picture-perfect, historic and set in the heart of the countryside. Of course it’s mostly famed for its university – an institution that has seen everyone from Oscar Wilde to 25 British Prime Ministers pass through its doors.

Whilst history is evident through every street and cobbled alley in Oxford, it also has its fair share of modernity - with lively arts and entertainment too. The large student population means that there are plenty of cinemas, art cafés and live music venues to choose from.

Shopaholics can head for the wonderful covered market for more unusual and retro items. Well know high-street brands and chic boutiques can be found in the Westgate Shopping Centre.

Fancy a bit of punting? It’s a timeless Oxford classic – punting along the peaceful Cherwell on a bright summer's day.

Oxford’s nightlife consists of its chain pubs and restaurants, or hunt a little harder down hidden narrow alleyways, in cobbled back streets and behind medieval city walls and you’ll find quirky pubs, bars and cafés.
