Apply for a BT Traineeship

Designed for young people aged 16 to 24 and not in education, employment or training, the BT traineeship offers the chance to gain nationally recognised BTEC certificates in work skills and business administration.

Gain working knowledge and new skills in just 32 days

The BT traineeship programme is designed to kick-start the careers of young people, coaching them to gain a range of foundation skills. You will be given advice and guidance from start to finish. Our experienced team will be with you every step of the way to show you our working world. So you'll start to think differently about yourself, discover skills you had never considered and you'll come out with a plan for your next steps in employment or education.

The confidence to enter employment

No matter what formal qualifications you have, if you are not in education, employment or training right now and you are aged between 16 and 24, then you could take advantage of a BT traineeship.

We run courses in various UK locations.

As well as learning practical work skills such as CV writing, interview techniques and confidence building, a BT traineeship also provides a mix of work experience and job shadowing.

Extra support for English and Maths is also included where needed to help you improve your literacy and numeracy, with the chance to gain new qualifications.

What a BT traineeship will offer you

  • Insight into writing a better CV
  • Practice handling interviews
  • A learning and development plan
  • An insider view of BT
  • On-the-job experience
  • Advice from BT employees
  • An accredited certificate
  • A confidence boost
  • Careers advice

What else do you need to know?

During a BT traineeship programme, you’ll be given the opportunity to spend time alongside BT people in real working environments.

You will get the chance to run a project from start to finish, giving on-the-job experience of managing a process, working individually and within a team while also presenting to senior BT people on progress and achievements.

By the end of a BT traineeship, you can achieve an accredited national qualification in work skills and business administration.
