Who we are
BT’s Civil Resilience team of National, Regional and Local liaison managers works in close partnership with the Government to keep BT provided communications up and running even in disaster situations.
We also work with the emergency services and other utilities at local, regional and national level to create effective response plans for major civil emergencies, in the UK and further afield.
Recently, BT has helped the police and other agencies respond to major incidents as a result of severe weather. We were involved during the storms that swept across Scotland at the beginning of 2015. We’ve also been out in the field supporting international disaster relief operations and deployed to the Philippines after it suffered one of the world’s deadliest storms in Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013.
Our emergency services include disaster recovery and incident management teams who work 24/7 and a fleet of emergency response vehicles to support our deployed liaison managers ensuring they can stay in touch with the BT Command team.
BT has seven Regional Liaison Managers who liaise with Regional Resilience contacts within the UK and approximately 100 BT Local Liaison Managers working in partnership with Local Resilience Forums and the Emergency services.
