Jonathan wins cybersecurity awards
16 July 2018
Our employee Jonathan Roscoe has won two awards for excellence in information security, strengthening our reputation for cybersecurity expertise.
The Peer Award for Excellence in Information Security gave Jonathan both the overall information security award and the technology for effective security award.
Presented in association with Business Reporter, the Peer Awards celebrate innovation in business and are judged by the finalists themselves.
The awards are in recognition of our work developing new artificial intelligence and analytics capabilities for investigation of cryptocurrency incidents.
Ben Azvine BT, Head of Security Futures Practice says: “Jonathan’s research into the use of machine learning for classifying bitcoin transactions helped simplify and shorten the investigation of suspicious cryptocurrency transactions.”
Tim Whitley, BT MD Applied Research says: “This is a great example of applied research to protect us and our customers from new forms of cyberattacks. Nexus technology, developed within BT Labs, was successfully used by our Security investigations team to help identify criminals behind a ransomware attack.”
