BT Smart Hub launches with the UK's most powerful wi-fi signal

Pete OliverBy Pete Oliver, MD Consumer, Commercial, Marketing and Digital

Home wi-fi is getting even better with the launch of the new BT Smart Hub.

The BT Smart Hub offers the UK's most powerful wi-fi signal, compared to routers from other major broadband providers. And it uses the latest technology to give faster and more stable wi-fi coverage around the home. It's dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and has seven antennas (three for 2.4GHz and four for 5GHz), giving an unbeatable wireless range and letting multiple users use multiple devices, all at the same time.

Smart Scan technology works in the background to proactively monitor and improve wi-fi performance, while advanced, built-in filters automatically block interference from other household devices such as microwave ovens, baby monitors and cordless phones.

If a wired connection is required, there are four Gigabit Ethernet ports on the rear of the device, plus a USB slot.

The hub has been designed to fit through most letterboxes so customers don't need to worry about being home when it's delivered. It comes with a handy, slide-out information tab so customers can easily find their wi-fi password and get online quickly.

Smart HubAnd rather than having an array of lights to indicate its status, the Smart Hub uses different colours emitted from a single light. This can be dimmed or switched it off altogether if preferred.

Customers can register their interest for the new BT Smart Hub at - Existing BT Infinity customers will be able to get a BT Smart Hub for free by recontracting, or they can buy one for just £50.
